Again, you can turn your tile any way you choose
and finish with tangles of your choice.
I hope that you find it very Zen!

Have a great Easter Weekend!

weekly challenges

I'm sorry that I am bombarding you with posts of tiles.  When I am off work I try to catch up on challenges and "travelling tiles".
I decided to turn the tile on it's side and fill it with oodles of tangles!

This next one is another Travelling Tangles swap, this time with Lisa Anderson.  The theme for the Feb swap was Year of the Dog so there is a paw print string hidden in there.
I went bold with this one using my Koh-I-Noor Woodless coloured pencils.

And finally the Diva #356 challenge using my name as a string.

I find that I tend to reuse the same tangles over and over so I want to add some more tangles to my patterns book.

These are the ones that I have so far,
but I would love some new suggestions for what to add!
Thanks so much!

Challenge #207

Still trying to keep these challenges heavily shaded.
Adding black to contrast with white highlights has been fun as well.

Another Travelling Tangles swap this time with Betsey Youngs.
The January 2018 theme was Cubine.

weekly challenges

I spent my first day of Spring Break tangling!  Sure there were chores and laundry and it was sunny outside (still chilly tho), but my desk was calling me the loudest.

I have a bunch of L O N G overdue Travelling Tangles to complete so I started with those.
First up dating back to OMG Sept 2017!  My swap partner was Laura van Erp and the theme was the tangle Cadent.

Next I have a swap from Beth Bentz from Nov 2017 with a Circle themed swap.  She sent me two lovely tiles with a fantastic spray ink applied to create the blue and grey circles!  Super fun to complete!

Lastly I have a page from my sketchbook that I started last night at a friend's house and completed today.  I started with watercolour pencils.  The colour is off, poor photo.

I think this is a good start, I have more swaps and some challenges to work on next!  I am hoping for a very creative Spring Break!

I have started with a ribbon and the tangle

weekly challenges

I decided to shade last week's #205 tile a bit more and I do like it better.  Thanks for your comments, they really help!

Here is my tile for #206
I went heavy on the shading again but what I really like about this tile are the darker sections (knights bridge, behind the printemps and the weighted 'waves' and curls)  It's kind of playful in a jester kind of way.

I was able to complete the Diva challenge and I must say that Siri and I don`t really get along to well!  It took me a few tries and it was still fighting me so I ended up using it as a border.
The interesting thing about this tile is that I have been reading about an Alberta boy named Ryan Shtuka who disappeared from Sun Peaks ski resort near Kamloops BC a few weeks ago.  He vanished without a trace and I have been checking their Facebook page regularly to see if they have found him.
When I finished this tile I realized that it is full of eyes!
I truly hope that the family finds him soon.

I have been working more than usual for the past few weeks so I haven't had time to leave many comments on your challenges.  For now I will just say that I love what I see every time I open my blog and hope that I can leave more personal comments very soon.
Keep tangling!

joey's weekly tangle challenge #206

Welcome to the third week of the
"Ribbon and Curls
Finish my Tile Challenge".

I hope that you are enjoying the series so far, today's tangle is a bit of a mystery tangle!

I found it on Pinterest but I couldn't find a name for it.
It came from a website called
Grafistka.com

I wanted to include a tangle that resembled the curls of a wave and this one caught my eye.
If anyone knows it's proper name please let me know!

Have fun with it, I really like it.
~ joey ~

Note:  Ria Matheussen has solved the mystery!  The tangle is Crest V2 by Suzanne Davis.  Thanks Ria!
