joey's weekly tangle challenge #183

Welcome to Week #6 of the 9 tile challenge!
For those of you that are just joining in,
you can read about what we are doing here.

The tangle for Tile #1 was African Artist
The tangle for Tile #2 was Merryweather
The tangle for Tile #3 was Cruffle
The tangle for Tile #4 was Breach
The tangle for Tile #5 was Muscari

For Tile #6 we are going to use the tangle
I think this is a pretty tangle and I'm sure that you will be able to use it in a very creative way in your composition!

It is starting to feel like Autumn here.  I have started to transition into wearing and decorating with more earthy colours.  I wonder if those colours will make their way in to my artwork as well?!

weekly challenges

Hello!
I have completed the 5th tile for the 9 tile challenge.

This week we added the tangle Muscari which totally threw me off!
(ugh why did I choose it? . . .  oh right, to challenge us of course!)
Also included are the tangles Breach, W2, and Merryweather.

The large amount of colouring has been the most work on this challenge.
SOO many layers, and to make each tile look like it blends seamlessly onto the next is far more challenging than I thought it would be!

There are a couple of mistakes in the W2 on this tile, never a good idea to tangle when you are still a bit tense from the weekly grind! ;o)

Also the white Uniball pen on the Muscari tangle bled into the purple Prismacolor and is really bothering me.  I will try to figure out a way to camouflage it.

Have a great week, I look forward to seeing how your challenges are coming along!

A sneak peak at an Eco-Art project that I have been working on lately.
I love to create new, beautiful things from other people's scraps and cast offs!

weekly challenges

Thanks so much for the kind comments about my kids' Fair entries.
I am very proud of their creativity and
am so grateful that I was able to stay home
with them for so many of their early years
 and nurture those skills.

I had some time to sit down with my 9 tile challenge this weekend (#181)
and play around with it and dream about
how it will all (hopefully!) come together in the end.
The time was part mathematical and part creative
and I found myself completely absorbed.
I can tell that I am "in the zone" when my kids say something to me
and I totally don't hear what they say!

Here is Tile #4
Tangles:  Breach, African Artist, W2, Merryweather
Prismacolor pencil, white Signo Uniball

And this is how it looks with the other tiles

Wishing you a great week!

joey's weekly tangle challenge #181

Welcome back!
Today is Labour Day in Canada,
which to many of us means that
school starts tomorrow!

It's been a great summer and so nice to have an opportunity to recharge.

We live near the world famous Butchart Gardens so every weekend is a blast (of fireworks!)  We watch the high ones from our dock and I love the reflection in the water!

Labour Day weekend also means the annual Country Fair.
Here are few of the creative projects that my kids entered.

my son sewed his bear - Dudley a new outfit

my daughter baked 'hamburger' cupcakes with a brownie patty, coconut lettuce, red icing ketchup and swiss cheese made with edible sugar paper.

Faber-Castell White Pitt Pastel                               Prismacolor pencil

My daughter also entered 2 of her drawings.
The fellow in the right photo is Shawn Mendes.
