weekly challenges

I'm sorry that I am bombarding you with posts of tiles.  When I am off work I try to catch up on challenges and "travelling tiles".
I decided to turn the tile on it's side and fill it with oodles of tangles!

This next one is another Travelling Tangles swap, this time with Lisa Anderson.  The theme for the Feb swap was Year of the Dog so there is a paw print string hidden in there.
I went bold with this one using my Koh-I-Noor Woodless coloured pencils.

And finally the Diva #356 challenge using my name as a string.

I find that I tend to reuse the same tangles over and over so I want to add some more tangles to my patterns book.

These are the ones that I have so far,
but I would love some new suggestions for what to add!
Thanks so much!

weekly challenges

I spent my first day of Spring Break tangling!  Sure there were chores and laundry and it was sunny outside (still chilly tho), but my desk was calling me the loudest.

I have a bunch of L O N G overdue Travelling Tangles to complete so I started with those.
First up dating back to OMG Sept 2017!  My swap partner was Laura van Erp and the theme was the tangle Cadent.

Next I have a swap from Beth Bentz from Nov 2017 with a Circle themed swap.  She sent me two lovely tiles with a fantastic spray ink applied to create the blue and grey circles!  Super fun to complete!

Lastly I have a page from my sketchbook that I started last night at a friend's house and completed today.  I started with watercolour pencils.  The colour is off, poor photo.

I think this is a good start, I have more swaps and some challenges to work on next!  I am hoping for a very creative Spring Break!

weekly challenges

Catching up on a few things . . .

Two "Finish my Tile - Ribbons and Curls" challenges

#204 -
Started with Hibred

Tangles:  Barber pole, Chillon, Bubbles, W2, N'Zeppel, Puf

Watercolour painted tile, black Micron 0.2, white Uni-ball, Prismacolor pencils, HB pencil, blender

#205 - Started with Andromeda

Tangles:  Bunzo, Chillon, Japonica, Zazzy, Tipple

Watercolour painted tile, black Micron 0.2, white Uni-ball, HB pencil, blender

I felt the first tile was a bit 'muddy' so I shaded the second tile less and didn't use Prismacolor pencils.   Happier with the result.

Happy Mail!!
I have been participating in the 'Travelling Tangles' swaps for a while now.
I received these two envelopes recently in my post box!   The February theme was Year of the Dog, can you see the paw print strings?

I also signed up for the Facebook group 'Tangles without borders' February swap.
This is one of the swaps that I have received so far.  Still waiting for my South African swap to arrive!

Aren't they fun?  I can't wait to get started!  Do you participate in swaps?

travelling tangles

 (July swap partner Debra H)

I really enjoy participating in Stephanie Jennifer's Travelling Tangles swap!  However, a few months ago I got terribly behind.  Being home sick last week gave me the opportunity to pull them out and get down to work!  I was fuzzy and spacey and slightly seeing double ;o) but I did my best and completed several tiles dating back to July.   Here are some photos of the awesome tiles that I received in the mail, and how I finished them.

For those of you not familiar with the Travelling Tangles swap it is organized by the lovely Stephanie who lives in Singapore.  She collects our info, matches us up with partners all over the world and then we swap a started tile with them.  When we have completed the tile we post a pic onto the Travelling Tangle's Facebook page.  I actually rejoined Facebook just to participate in the swaps! ;o)

My first "finish my tile challenge" was born because at the time I was too timid to join the group.  I am SO glad that I eventually jumped in to join the fun!

What I really like is that receiving someone else's start sometimes takes you out of your comfort zone so you are forced to try something new!

Enjoy your day, hope it is creative!
